UNION LEARNING REPS COURSES

ULR Five Day Course

The Hull Trade Union Studies Centre was one of the first to deliver training to union learning reps as part of the AEEU's Accelerate and the GMB's Springboard projects. This years Employment Bill will establish the position on the UK statute book and give reps the right to paid time off to attend this vital training.

The new five day courses (which have replace the three day Front Line Advice & Guidance, FLAG courses) will explain in detail this new role, look at barriers to learning and the benefits of learning and help you to make vital contacts with both your members and the colleges and training providers in your area. Our courses are running on the north bank and the south bank and can also be provided in workplaces subject to sufficient recruitment. Please contact us for details of the best course for you.

Basic Skills and the Union Role

This three day course is designed to help union learning reps develop a stratergy for implimenting the Basic Skills or "Skills for Life" agenda for their members and in their workplaces. Learners will develop an understanding of the Skills for Life agenda, the core curriculum stucture and the many initiatives available free of charge that can be used to address reading writing and communication skills issues.
